  19. Kentrol remembers variable bandwidth tuning settings, so you can switch VBT or 
  20. high/low cut in and out with a single mouse click.

  22. Kentrol allows access to all 40 memory channels as a single, consecutively 
  23. numbered bank. Bank 0, channel 00 is memory 00; bank 2, channel 06 is 26; and 
  24. so on up to 39.

  26. When you choose the Scan: Set Parameters command, all 40 channels are 
  27. displayed and you can choose ANY combination, regardless of bank.

  29. Kentrol memory set files (*.KTS files) all hold 100 split channels, and when 
  30. you open them into edit windows you have access to the whole file.  But 
  31. Kentrol automatically ensures that only the first 40 channels are loaded into 
  32. the radio or read from it.  So, if you want to load settings from 
  33. higher-numbered lines, you will need to copy/paste them to the beginning of 
  34. the set.

  36. While Kentrol is running in the foreground, the Memory Bank Switch on top of 
  37. the radio and many front panel controls are disabled.  When Kentrol is 
  38. minimized to its 'Monitor' icon, (and when it exits), Kentrol re-activates the 
  39. manual controls.

  42. TS-140S/TS-680S

  44. All features are supported for HF operation.  Transmit and split operation are 
  45. supported by registered copies only.

  47. Kentrol adds to the TS-140S the FSK mode that Kenwood left out.  When Kentrol 
  48. indicates that you are in FSK mode (or when you click on the FSK radiobutton 
  49. to force the mode), the Tuner display on your screen will not match the radio 
  50. front panel, which will show 'lsb' and a different frequency.  If you have 
  51. chosen to use the rtty Mark frequency (default), the radio will show a 
  52. frequency 2.11 kHz above the frequency in the Tuner window.

  54. If you have used memories 20-30 to store frequency ranges (Kenwood calls these 
  55. channels "Programed (sic) Band Markers"), Kentrol will copy those ranges into 
  56. any vacant User-defined Bands.  To take advantage of the additional 
  57. capabilities of Kentrol's User-defined Bands, go to the Options Menu, select 
  58. Define..., and save the bands with your choice of tuning step and label text.  
  59. Now you can use 20-30 as 11 more simplex memory channels and have user-defined 
  60. bands too.
